Hope your summer is as chill as my dog Karl. This is a photo of him while I was working this week. I returned from an epic vacation last Saturday and am excited for the fall.
We are preparing for an exciting new season at The Portico. Sunday is The Gathering at 10:01 a.m. We are 2 months away from The Gathering’s weekly launch.
Three Important Things:

  1. Sunday is The Gathering at 10:01 a.m. (August’s is a Potluck)
  2. September 11 Launch of weekly 1001 Gathering
  3. The Community Meal Weekly?

The 1001 Gathering. It’s called “1001 Gathering” because of the time and address. We meet at 10:01 a.m. at 1001 N Florida Ave. It’s called “The Gathering” because it’s an intentional assembly for important conversation, connection with God and each other, and to participate in community change. We have music, meditation, and conversation. We continue to meet on the 2nd Sunday in the summer.
After this Sunday’s Gathering, our next one will be Aug 14 which will also be a potluck.

Participate in the Launch of Weekly 1001 Gathering on Sept 11. The Portico Leadership Team has the names of those who have indicated that this community will be the place you worship. If you are interested or ready to commit, or even if you are not interested, kindly email me. Thanks in advance! Your reply will greatly assist with our launch efforts. The Community Meal Weekly? The Community Meal continues on the 2nd Sundays immediately after the 1001 Gathering. It’s a meal and fellowship with folks who are hungry and or who might be experiencing homelessness. The leadership team is exploring whether to do it weekly or keep it monthly.
To move the meal to weekly, we would need 25 people to commit to serving 1 time a month. The time would be from about 11:15-12:30. If you are interested in supporting the meal to go to weekly and would serve 1x/month, email Kristen.
