FRIDAY CONTEMPLATION:

Advent kicks off the new year in the Christian calendar (yes, Christians have a calendar). It marks the 4 Sundays that precede Christmas. Read more about it here and here. Fundamentally, Advent is about waiting, hoping, anticipation, and preparing.

Waiting on God to change something in the midst of suffering is a challenge. Tom Petty’s 1981 hit from the album “Hard Promises” nails an Advent truth (even though he was writing about something else).

Waiting is the hardest part.

1001 GATHERING
